So what's everybody been doing for the last 10 years?
#1
I've been nourishing my general hatred for mankind and feeding stray dogs.

I've also learned that annoying people is more fun with a lot broader audience.

FB is a target rich environment and I'm a proud FB jail alumni.

We got a new golden retreiver. He's white and smart as a rock. He doesn't chase balls, has a panic attack if you try to get him in the car and is solely responsible for the cloud of white hair that collects like snow drifts. His one talent is cuddling, kinda like having an over-friendly polar bear.

Other than that, I'm getting tired of being a full time janitor in this joint. I've been thinking about downsizing and we've been contemplating a move out of California. The glory days of the Ribshack are pretty much over and maybe it's time to move on.

Or are they?

I gave my Lipe bass to Pimp in true pass it forward tradition, turned around and scratched another one together from Amazon parts and really like it better. I'm just waiting on my muse to pass through here again.  I've been looking at building a Warmoth guitar lately. 24 frets. Single P 90 at the neck, just my style. Guess I still have the disease.

The list of things I truly give a shit about keeps getting shorter, I guess that's normal at my age.

That's my take on it.

10 years? Mostly doing as much camping, traveling, loving, and playing music as I can.

Dammit, Alex. You said BBQ.

To Flyin' Pig, or not to Flyin' Pig is now the question.

Loves me some BBQ from the Swinging Door, but I'd like the specifics on when ISN'T the perfect weather for BBQ.

Use diagrams if it helps.

Cheers,
Tim

The F y’all talking about BBQ … it’s raining - cold - grey skies - moist …

I've been waiting on perfect weather too. Today the jeep is soggy and the AC guy is coming to fix the AC in the control room.

It hasn't worked for ~6 months and today is the day.

I'll be out and about when it dries up and gets warm for longer than 2 hours in the afternoon.

Moved to the city I'd always wanted to live in. Switched careers by complete and utter accident (I now work as an audio equipment tech). Got a lot more grey hair, a couple of cats and a lot happier.

Hmmm, dare I say less than 10 yrs back? Par for the course considering the dents.

But over the last weirder and weirder few yonks at least, I learned how to draw—more properly. And make good stirfries. And I now know more about Logic than ever.

And medical science in varied fields, dents-relevant.

And nervous nelly street pooches who dig Parkour.

Oh, wrote my first chapbook, second in the muse/crisis hopper.

Thanks for asking, ‘cause at least I hadn’t realized what I’ve managed to do between the medical mystery tours.

These days though, I’m just glad to have a ladybug land on me.

I used to ‘newyork’ walk there from time to time when my studio was on Cahuenga.

I’m a bit under the weather r.n., but could definitely be down for some authentic Los Angeles Gas Station Style BBQ in the coming months should Bubba find his way close by and somehow pass Mucho Mas without stopping.

SO
SO
MUCH

Some of it just regular bs. Some of it amazing. But besides the day gig, moving to Mississippi, and becoming a grandfather 11 times, I’ve:

Toured with a ridiculous band that I love dearly, playing either bass or drums depending on whatever…

Recorded and mixed several records that can be characterized as cat-herding, but still managed to make records I’m proud of…

Decided I can build a giant goddamn Quonset hut almost single-handed. I’m still in process so the jury’s still out on that one LOL

Learned that good lawyers are expensive.

Oh, and I’m playing and singing by my damn self for the first time in 30+ years - next Thursday for a singer/songwriter thing here in Tupelo.

I’m just a boy who can’t say no
